Dear Neville, Eileen and Friends of Chiltern Mt Pilot NP,
My name is Janice Mentiplay-Smith, and I’m the Coordinator of the Broken Boosey Conservation Management Network (CMN) in the Goulburn Broken Catchment. The CMN undertakes lots of conservation projects, and recently we have embarked on a new Turquoise Parrot Project with Chris Tzaros called ‘Practical Parrot Action’.
The launch of the Turquoise Parrot Project will take place in Glenrowan at the Lions Park on Sunday May 4 at 11am, and we’d love you to come along (might fit in nicely for a Sunday afternoon around the local vineyards afterwards…?)
Well-known birdo and wildlife photographer Chris Tzaros, local Turquoise Parrot landholder Graham Colson, the Parent and Lions Clubs and ‘Neo’ the turquoise parrot (human sized) will be there giving away chocolate eggs (handy its after Easter!).
We’ll also have a nest box display, parrot info, and the opportunity for people to ask lots of questions about the project and to meet Chris, and see how they can be involved in helping save this remarkably beautiful local bird.
It would be great to see you there, and hear about your experiences with observing the TP. If you could distribute the attached flyer to your contacts, that would be marvellous,
With thanks,
Janice.
