Last year after 13 years of operation the Murray Valley Bushwalkers conducted a lengthy research of options for website management going forward and considering many options decided that the opportunity to outsource the website management including membership, events, software updates and infrastructure was the most attractive
Member jungle websites offer an integrated solution for club membership, event management and data storage. The advantages and disadvantages are definitely worthy of your consideration

We can use their cost calculator on the member jungle website to generate an idea of setup and ongoing costs
This needs to be compared with the spreadsheet I prepared last Nov where I listed the anticipated costs of maintaining the website in its existing format. This document doesnt factor in payment to a website manager so I would suggest a minimum charge for that service would be $100 per month
OPTION 2 EMPLOY A CONTRACTOR TO MANAGE OUR WORDPRESS SITE
To continue the current operations will require a website manager to make decisions and deploy software for maintaining the functionality and security of the Friends members
I havent reached out to any local contractors for this role but if people had time that well may be worth exploration – however this can be very time consuming and not necessarily fruitful
